Former Junior World Rally Championship title winner PG Andersson is to make a return to the WRC after agreeing a deal to compete for the AT Rally Team.

The Swede will drive a Ford Fiesta RS WRC on six events, with his first appearance coming in Italy next month.

The 33-year-old will then take in the events in Finland, Germany, France, Spain and Great Britain as he returns to a full-blown WRC machine for the first time since Italy 2011 - when he drove a Fiesta for the Stobart World Rally Team.

The AT Rally Team has been co-founded by Ukrainian driver Alexey Tamrazov, who Andersson has coached in the past.

"It's really quite amazing that they give me this chance," former Suzuki man Andersson said. "I thought this season was more or less over for me and then Alexey gives me this chance. I feel indescribably happy and grateful!

"Alexey wants us to run the car as much as possible and we will probably be running a competition in Estonia too."

Andersson drove the team's S2000-spec Fiesta in Portugal and won the first three stages in WRC2 before retiring with suspension damage on stage four after hitting a rock.
