Outline route confirmed for Wales Rally GB 2013

“As one of our flagship events, the Welsh Government is committed to working with IMS to develop Wales Rally GB, which has significant links with the automotive sector in Wales,” she noted. “Wales is home to around 150 component and systems manufacturing companies and has 15,000 people employed in automotive manufacturing with an annual turnover of £3 billion.

“I'm delighted to announce that in order to maximise the benefits of hosting the event in Wales, we will also organise events alongside the Rally. An industry awareness event for students will be held alongside the new Wales Rally GB Service Park in Deeside and we will also work with Welsh Automotive Forum to plan an automotive conference at Venue Cymru.

“The spectacular scenery and landscapes of North Wales and exciting challenges offered by the Welsh forests will provide the perfect backdrop for Wales Rally GB, we look forward to an exciting event this November.”

This has been coming for a while and is as has been said is exactly what the Rally needs to finally breathe life back into it The Big plus for me is no more Micky mouse Saturdays, instead we now have proper Gravel stages on Saturday, and finally we have 3 stages run in complete Darkness to start the party off, I always thought this was the best part of doing the RAC rally as a Driver, and is the part i enjoyed driving the most The Stages are Exciting and are of Top Quality, its a bit sad that i wont be doing them as a driver, but I will definatety be out on all 4 days as a Spectator, im sure there will be a lot more crews entered and a lot more spectators out watching this year
