Julien Ingrassia is to miss Volkswagen's upcoming test in preparation for Rally Germany after picking up a shoulder injury.

Ingrassia sustained the injury in a fall while mountain biking in Corsica as part of a training tour and is now set to undergo surgery to aid in his recovery.

The Frenchman is expected to be fit to return to action for Rally Finland at the start of August, but will be replaced for the upcoming test in Trier by Nicolas Klinger, who will sit alongside championship leader Sebastien Ogier for the session.
