Volkswagen concluded a five-day test for Rally Germany recently, its home round of the World Rally Championship, with Sebastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen all in action.
The test was carried out at the Arena Panzerplatte and on the routes around Veldenz with the weather conditions alternating between heavy rain and brilliant sunshine.
“With under seven weeks to go until the Rally Germany staged in and around Trier, the three Volkswagen works drivers have been working on the set-up of their 315 horsepower 'made in Wolfsburg' World Rally Cars,” VW said in its weekly newsletter.
“The teams of Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila and Andreas Mikkelsen/Mikko Markkula have been working well together and are using this as an opportunity to attune to the varying asphalt and concrete road surfaces
“World Championship leader Sebastien Ogier was joined by compatriot Nicolas Klinger for the tests. His regular co-driver Julien Ingrassia is recovering from a collarbone fracture [after a fall while mountain biking at the end of last month].”
