Qatar M-Sport man Mads Ostberg
took victory on Rally Telemark, the penultimate round of the Norwegian Rally Championship, on Saturday, as he warmed up for Rally Australia.
After a frustrating outing on Rallye Deutschland
last weekend, the Norwegian was using the event to get back into 'gravel mode' ahead of the tenth round in the 2013 FIA World Rally Championship, which takes place in a few weeks time.
Ostberg ended up dominating the event and was fastest in all ten stages in his Adapta Motorsport-run Ford Fiesta RS WRC, eventually finishing almost three minutes up on Anders Grondal, who was second.
It was his third victory of the year in his native country, as he also won the Rally Aurskog/Høland in June and Rally Finnskog in February.
“Today has been a good day,” Ostberg told his personal website. “Everything went according to plan and I very much enjoyed driving on all the stages. The roads were good and some of them were also fun to drive.
“The organisers have done a massive job with this event, and there were a lot of spectators along the stages, just a good day at work!”
“Also, this was a very good test before leaving for Rally Australia,” added the Crash.net columnist
, “and it feels good to go there carrying with me the good feeling I now have!”
