Volkswagen has confirmed that Paul Nagle will continue to read the pacenotes for Andreas Mikkelsen on the next round of the World Rally Championship in France.

Nagle joined forces with the Norwegian for Rally Australia after Mikko Markkula was sidelined with a back injury.

The pair took a sixth place finish down under in what was expected to be a one-off outing, although the partnership will now continue on the return to Europe after Markkula failed to gain medical clearance to return to action.

News that Mikkelsen will be partnered by Nagle again comes on the back of his guest entry into the Volkswagen Castrol Cup at the weekend.

The 24-year-old finished eighth out of 21 in the opening race at the Hungaroring, which then saw him start race two from pole thanks to the reverse grid regulations in place.

Dropping places at the start, Mikkelsen eventually crossed the line in sixth place.
