Peugeot Rally Academy driver Craig Breen will make his debut in a World Rally Car on Rally Sweden next month, the second round in the 2014 FIA World Rally Championship.

Breen, who won the SWRC title in 2012 and who finished third in the FIA European Rally Championship in 2013, will pilot a Ford Fiesta RS WRC car and will be co-driven by Scott Martin.

Breen has been given special permission by Peugeot Sport to drive the Ford Fiesta RS WRC, and while he is looking forward to the event, he added that his main focus remains on the ERC, where he will be gunning for the title with the new Peugeot 208 T16, which is due to be homologated in March.

"Firstly I am very grateful to Peugeot Sport for allowing me to take this opportunity to participate in Rally Sweden," Breen told his official website.

"We are purely focused on the ERC this year, and the much anticipated debut of the 208 T16 in March. However, it goes without saying that a chance to drive in the WRC is something that we couldn't turn down.

"This opportunity is something that I have dreamed of obtaining since I was a young boy, so to finally have my chance is something I am really excited about."

"This year will also see the introduction of a new co-driver for me in the form of Scott Martin. Scott and I have already tested together, and we are anxiously awaiting the start of our Peugeot Rally Academy programme," added the 23-year-old.
