Former F1 pilot Robert Kubica has crashed out of Rallye Monte Carlo after going off the road in SS9 this afternoon.
Kubica had been battling for third with Kris Meeke – just 0.8 seconds behind post-SS8, until his off in the repeat-run through the long Vitrolles-Faye 2 test.
M-Sport have confirmed that the Pole and co-driver Maciej Szczepaniak are both okay.
Sebastien Ogier meanwhile now leads overall. The Frenchman set the pace in SS9, 22.8 seconds up on Mads Ostberg. Bryan Bouffier, who had been top of the pack, lost over 40 seconds after a spin. He had to get a push from some spectators to continue and consequently drops to second, now 11.2 seconds adrift. Kris Meeke is third, more than a minute off the duel at the front, followed by Ostberg, Elfyn Evans and Andreas Mikkelsen.
Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala
complete the top eight, the latter having to stop to change a puncture after hitting a kerb near the start.
