M-Sport lends support to 'Road to Wales' initiative

M-Sport offers the use of a Fiesta R5 on Wales Rally GB to the British Rally Champion if they can lift the title at the wheel of a Fiesta in 2014
M-Sport has shown its support for the MSA's 'Road to Wales' initiative by adding an extra incentive to drivers competing in the British Rally Championship this season.

With the MSA offering a free entry into Wales Rally GB to this season's title winner, M-Sport has now revealed that it will provide a fully-prepared Fiesta R5 to the title winner if they secure championship honours at the wheel of a Fiesta.

The offer is the latest addition to M-Sport's current bonus scheme for Fiesta drivers, which includes parts vouchers to successful drivers and test drives for the highest scoring driver over the course of the year.

“We have always been keen to support talent at home so I am happy to announce that the FordFiesta SportTrophy scheme will continue for its ninth season in the British Rally Championship,” M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson said. “It is a proven route to the sport's highest level, Elfyn Evans having started his career within the championship in 2007.

“We are also eager to improve the performance of the Fiesta and the new Ford Fiesta R200 will see our cars in much closer competition with the R3 models. We don't want to see a single manufacturer dominate as it did in 2013, and so we are encouraging our Fiesta drivers to push the limits with a great opportunity to shine on home soil at the end of the season.”
