The FIA's World Motor Sport Council has announced a number of minor amendments to the regulations for the WRC, with the main change being a move to simplify the Rally 2 regulations.

As such, a five-minute time penalty will now be applied for any super special stage missed, instead of 10 minutes.

The WMSC also added that Rally 2 cars will also be permitted to score points in the Power Stage and that cars running under Rally 2 regulations will be re-seeded ahead of Priority 1 and Priority 2 drivers to avoid them gaining an advantageous road position.

In addition, it was revealed that the number of passages in the Shakedown for P1 and P2 drivers is changed to a minimum of two runs.

Finally, manufacturers have been told that they are 'permitted to include the testing of their 2015 WRC cars in their current test sessions without being penalised by the number of days allowed in the 2014 regulations'.

All changes are applied with immediate effect.
