WRC Rallye Deutschland: Neuville crashes in shakedown

Thierry Neuville rolls his Hyundai i20 WRC in the shakedown for Rallye Deutschland
Hyundai's Thierry Neuville crashed this morning in the shakedown for Rallye Deutschland.

The incident happened on the Belgian's third pass through the 4.60km Konz shakedown test. Neuville and co-driver Nicolas Gilsoul both escaped unharmed, but their Hyundai i20 WRC appeared to take quite a battering (see picture below) and it has since been confirmed it rolled about six times.

The car will now be recovered to the service area in Trier, where the extent of the damage will be assessed. If the rollcage has been damaged, he will not be able to start the event on Friday.
