WRC Wales Rally GB: Mikkelsen goes off again

Volkswagen Motorsport II pilot Andreas Mikkelsen retires his Polo R WRC from Wales Rally GB in SS19 after getting stuck in a ditch
Volkswagen Motorsport II driver Andreas Mikkelsen has crashed out of Wales Rally GB in Sunday morning's second test.

Mikkelsen, who was running under Rally 2, went off near the end of the 10.04 km Alwen 1 test and got stuck in a ditch. Mikkelsen and co-driver Ola Floene both escaped unharmed.

Mikkelsen had been second quickest in the first test of the day, 1.4 seconds behind Mads Ostberg.

He was, however, running well down the order after what happened on Friday in SS2 when he was a “little bit too optimistic on a crest and braked too late...”
