Mads Ostberg has insisted he is confident about 2015 and about his prospects of remaining in the World Rally Championship.
Ostberg took his fourth podium of the year on Wales Rally GB last weekend and it was a timely result after a somewhat difficult second half of the season.
Speaking prior to the confirmation today that team-mate Kris Meeke
has concluded a new deal with Citroen and asked if he is feeling confident about 2015 and if he has done enough to guarantee himself a seat, Ostberg replied: “Yes.”
“We are quite pleased with what we have achieved [here in Wales]. OK, Kris had a problem [on the final day] and we gained a position, but on Saturday we had a problem [too] and we dropped from second. Somehow I do not feel bad about this. I feel this [third place] is well deserved,” he added.
“We have had good pace and I am happy to have achieved this at the end of the year.
“I think it is quite important for the future.”
Jonas Andersson, Ostberg's co-driver, also feels they have done enough to stay with Citroen.
“We have shown a lot of good pace. There have been some difficult rallies with some technical issues and we have made some mistakes, but for sure we have had a good first season [with Citroen],” he continued.
“I am sure it will turn out well for next year.”
