Mads Ostberg began the 2014 WRC season strongly and in the first six events, took three podiums and two other points finishes, leaving him third in the standings, best of the rest after the dominant Volkswagens of Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala. The only blot on his record was a DNF in Argentina, the Norwegian forced to withdraw after injuring his hand in an off.

The mid-season though was far more tricky with Poland and Finland bringing more woe, while Germany and Australia were little better, especially as at the same time team-mate Kris Meeke began to shine.

He recovered somewhat though with a seventh and fourth in France and Spain respectively, before timely third on Wales Rally GB, the season finale, helped him to net fifth position in the standings.

In your vote though, he only scored an average mark of 4.907 out of ten, leaving him ninth overall. So do you think that score is about right or a bit harsh? Share your opinions simply by clicking on the 'Post your comments' link below.
