Elfyn Evans stepped up to the top level in 2014 and while the season was always going to be about gaining experience and learning, he made the most of the opportunity afforded to him by M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson.
Indeed, he finished every event, bar Sweden, where he looked set to score points on his first snow rally before he went out in the final test while running in ninth.
In the end he claimed points in nine of the 13 events, peaking with fourth places in Mexico and Germany. He also took two fifths – in Sardinia and Wales – and was sixth in France and on the season opener in Monte Carlo. It all sets him up very well for 2015...
