The organisers of the WRC French rally have announced the event will be moving from Alsace in 2015, but have not yet found a replacement location.

The French motorsport governing body, the FFSA, explained a massive loss of financial backing means the WRC cannot return to Alsace and is currently seeking a new venue. Alsace had hosted the French rally since 2010, with Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier each winning the event twice.

The FFSA said in a statement: "The Executive Committee acknowledges that the first condition is no longer met by the Alsatian territorial authorities despite the large economic fallout for the Alsatian region, and the popular success of the event."
