Citroen WRC pilot Kris Meeke will re-start on Rallye Monte Carlo on Saturday after he went off in the final test on Friday.

Meeke moved up to fourth this afternoon in his DS 3 WRC, running 37.1 seconds behind Jari-Matti Latvala post-SS7 and more than 10 seconds up on Andreas Mikkelsen, who concluded the day in third.

However, around halfway through SS8, the 25.40 km Les Costes-St Julien 2 test, Meeke damaged the rear left-hand suspension on his car after sliding into a ditch.

He now drops to 21st position, more than 5 minutes off P10.

"In the middle of SS8, I slid wide on a fast left-hand corner," Meeke recalled. "The car went sideways. I tried to steer into the skid to correct the trajectory, but we ended up in a ditch where we hit a small tree.

"We were unable to get away again because the rear suspension was broke. The car will be repaired tonight so we can rejoin under Rally 2 rules tomorrow."
