WRC Rally Mexico: Tanak okay after crashing into a lake

Ott Tanak's Rally Mexico comes to an early end after he goes off and his Fiesta RS WRC ends up submerged
M-Sport's Ott Tanak and co-driver Ragio Molder are both okay after crashing into a lake in the first proper stage of Rally Mexico.

Tanak's Fiesta RS WRC reportedly left the road in the first third of the 9.91 km Los Mexicanos 1 test. Tanak and Molder both managed to scramble free, before the car sank.

SS3 was stopped as a result, with Tanak and Molder driven to the end in the safety car. All drivers after Lorenzo Bertelli were given notional times. Following the delay in that test, SS4 was also stopped after Bertelli.

Sebastien Ogier currently leads the event post-SS5, 8.9 seconds up on Thierry Neuville. Jari-Matti Latvala is third.

Meanwhile, Kris Meeke, Hayden Paddon and former F1 driver Robert Kubica also retired, all three going out in SS4.
