Jari-Matti Latvala has singled out World Rally Championship leader and Volkswagen team-mate Sebastien Ogier as his biggest competition for victory at Rally Argentina.

Latvala claimed victory at the South American event 12 months ago on his way to the runner-up spot in the WRC championship, eventually losing out to Ogier. The French driver has enjoyed a flawless start to the defence of his WRC crown, winning all three events in 2015 in Monte Carlo, Sweden and Mexico.

After grabbing a second place finish in the 2015 season opener the Volkswagen Motorsport driver has suffered badly due to crashes and left Sweden and Mexico pointless. As a result the Finnish driver trails Ogier and languishes in sixth place in the WRC standings.

"I am really looking forward to the Rally Argentina. It is a gravel rally, but very different to the Rally Mexico," Latvala said. "We'll have to wait and see whether we can repeat that feat - S?bastien Ogier is very strong at the moment."

The Finnish driver says he relishes the challenges Rally Argentina throws up and is an upbeat mood ahead of round four of the 2015 campaign.

"The surface in Argentina is far sandier, not as hard, and there is far more grip. My favourite special stage is 'El C?ndor', which forms the Power Stage, as it did in 2014. Miikka and I won here last year."
