Former F1 driver Robert Kubica has retired from day two of Rally Italia Sardegna with suspected gearbox problems.

Kubica, who had re-joined on Saturday under Rally 2 - after crashing out on Friday - and who was running well down the order, was forced out again after SS17, completing the test with a flat-right rear tyre and a damaged left-rear wheel rim. He was also stuck in fifth and sixth gears.

It is not yet known if he will be able to re-start again on Sunday.
