Elfyn Evans says he's out to prove the capability of his M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS machine after a mechanical failure denied him the opportunity to shine at Rally Poland.

A broken water pump ended Evans's hopes of a strong result in Poland but has full confidence in the M-Sport package after his team-mate Ott Tanak notched up his maiden rostrum of 2015 in Poland and was the main challenger to the dominant Volkswagen pair of Sebastien Ogier and Andreas Mikkelsen.

Off the back of a three-day pre-event test ahead of Rally Finland, Evans is in an upbeat mood to put the disappointment of Poland behind him and fightback at the challenging, high speed event.

"I am feeling good and ready to put our recent string of bad luck well and truly behind us," Evans said. "I want to prove what we were capable of in Poland, but more than anything I want to enjoy these amazing stages and really make the most of it."

Hailing Rally Finland as 'one of the highlights of the season' Evans says M-Sport have had produced an individual setup for the event as it represents a unique challenge on the WRC calendar.

"The high speed combined with the technical nature of the stages is incredible and when you hook-up a good rhythm to post a really good time, it's a phenomenal feeling," Evans said. "But it's not all fun and games.

"We know that the margins are very close in Finland and as the speeds are so high it's very difficult to gain time on the leaders. There are so few opportunities to claw back any time loss so it's important to get up to speed and be clean and tidy from the very beginning."
