Hyundai's Dani Sordo was disappointed to only finish eleventh on Rally Finland last weekend.

Sordo had been running sixth overall, closely behind team-mate, Thierry Neuville, until he went off on Saturday afternoon in SS15, getting stuck in a ditch and losing over 5 minutes (see pictures below).

He dropped to 13th as a result and while he regained two positions over the remainder of the event, he was unable to break back into the top-ten, although he did still secure four points for Hyundai in the Manufacturers' Championship.

"It's been a disappointing end to the rally for me. I was improving my confidence levels stage by stage and was enjoying the contention for fifth place with Thierry," Sordo said.

"Unfortunately, we lost five or six minutes recovering the car from the ditch which put an end to our ambitions for a good result.

"We then had nothing to really push for on the final day so we took it easy and brought the car home safely."

Sordo is now looking forward to Germany and returning to the event where Hyundai last year finished 1-2, with the Spaniard second and Neuville first.

"We can now prepare for Rallye Deutschland with optimism and we have some happy memories from last year," Sordo noted.

"I'm looking forward to it."
