Thierry Neuville is hoping the memories from last year will spur him on to another strong result on the Rallye Deutschland, scene of his and Hyundai's maiden World Rally Championship win.

The Belgian survived a dramatic event to claim an unexpected victory in last year's rally, leading a Hyundai 1-2 from Dani Sordo in what became a breakthrough result for both the driver and the Korean manufacturer.

Heading into the 2015 edition of the German event, Neuville is hoping the confidence earned from that win will see him challenging up front in his i20 once again.

"We have really good memories from Rallye Deutschland last year - it was our first victory for the team, which was a very big result to have done in a very short time. Getting a first win in the first season as a team was something unexpected, and we are going to try our best this year so that hopefully we have the same speed as last year and the same confidence.

His adopted 'home rally', Neuville will also be keeping a keen eye on the competition as the event will see his brother Yannick competing too.

"This rally is very close to my native town of Sankt-Vith, and a lot of relatives and friends are coming down to support us throughout the weekend. My brother is competing as well, so it's going to be a huge event for our family."
