M-Sport's Ott Tanak says he knew Rallye Deutschland would be "tricky", but reckons the experience gained will stand him in good stead for the next tarmac rallies.

Tanak finished eighth in Trier last weekend, losing time with two offs - one in the very first stage on Friday and one on Saturday afternoon, when he had trouble re-starting his car.

However, as it was his first asphalt event in a WRC car for more than three years, he was still relatively content with his performance and he set some pretty good times over the event, peaking with two fourths in SS14 and SS21.
