WRC Wales Rally GB: Mikkelsen misses shakedown

RallyRACC Catalunya winner Andreas Mikkelsen forced to skip Wales Rally GB shakedown
RallyRACC Catalunya winner Andreas Mikkelsen failed to take part in the shakedown for Wales Rally GB this morning.

Mikkelsen was taken ill on Wednesday and flew back to Germany last night to be assessed by Volkswagen's “team doctors”. The Norwegian is now due to return to the UK later today ready for the start on Friday, although it is understood he will not be present at the ceremonial start in Llandudno this evening.

Volkswagen has refused to comment on what is wrong with Mikkelsen, but a spokesperson told the official WRC site it was “not serious”.
