M-Sport unveils 2016 Fiesta WRC challenger

M-Sport reveals a revised look for its 2016 World Rally Championship Ford Fiestas, to be driven by Mads Ostberg and Eric Camilli.
M-Sport has pulled the wraps off its 2016 World Rally Championship challenger ahead of this year's season-opening Monte Carlo Rally.

Continuing with the Ford Fiesta RS, M-Sport will feature an all-new driver line-up for the 2016 season, with Mads Ostberg – who previously drove with the team in 2013 – being joined by French WRC rookie Eric Camilli.

Having been praised for the 'retro' look of its 2015 entry, M-Sport has maintained a similar design for the updated 2016 model, with the white livery replaced by the distinctive 'Nitrous Blue' palette available on Ford's RS road models.

With the car getting its first competitive outing in Monaco, which kicks off on January 21st, the livery will also be present on Elfyn Evans' Ford Fiesta R5 entry, which he will drive in the WRC2 class.

“The 2015 livery was immensely popular so rather than changing it completely, the team opted for an evolution which has created a bold look for our 2016 FIA World Rally Championship campaign,” said team owner Malcolm Wilson.

“Drawing inspiration from what continues to be a strong technical partnership with Ford, this year's colour scheme creates a fresh look for our new team.

“We also continue our partnerships with Michelin, Castrol and our valued trade partners – without whom this project would not be possible.”

Ostberg re-joins M-Sport after two seasons with Citroen, the Norwegian – who won his first WRC event at the wheel of a privateer Fiesta in 2012 – having finished as the best non-VW driver in 2015. Camilli, meanwhile, makes his WRC class debut after a stint in WRC2.
