Kubica’s WRC programme uncertain after Monte

Though he will compete in this week's Monte Carlo Rally, Robert Kubica's is yet to finalise a WRC programme beyond the 2016 opener.
Robert Kubica's could be forced to exit the World Rally Championship after just a single round of the 2016 season as he battles to finance a fuller WRC programme.

The former F1 driver, who was forced to quit single-seater competition after seriously injuring himself in a rallying competition accident in 2011, has been competing in the WRC in 2014 but has struggled to complement his evident speed with consistency.

With the 2016 season kicking off later this week with the Rally Monte Carlo, Kubica will start in a Pirelli-shod, BRC Racing-prepared Ford Fiesta RS WRC, but a spokesperson confirmed he has no commitments beyond that as he looks to drum up finance for a more substantial campaign.

The 2013 WRC-2 champion, Kubica's best result in WRC remains a sixth place finish on the 2014 Rally Argentina, though he has notched up 14 overall stage wins.

It is going to be a lean year for WRC, so many are not doing the full round. We will see, good luck to Kubica whatever he will be doing this year but I think this is the worst time to stop. His driving was getting more controlled and consistent, bar tyre problems....
