World Rallycross squad Team Austria has unveiled an all-new driver line-up of Russian Timur Timerzyanov and Latvian Janis Baumanis for the 2016 World RX championship.

The MJP Racing-prepared team sees team owner Max Pucher take a step back to manage the squad while also competing in the European Rallycross series and selected World RX rounds while Manfred Stohl will concentrate on the engineering side of the team's Ford Fiesta RX Supercars.

As a result the team has brought on Timerzyanov and Baumanis to bring a new-look to Team Austria. Timerzyanov moves over from Ford Olsbergs MSE and the two-time European Rallycross champion is relishing the opportunity ahead of him for 2016.

“Having had several options for 2016, I made a conscious decision to join a great team with an amazing car,” Timerzyanov said. “The level of the championship is growing including team and car development plus more fantastic drivers are joining all the time. I'm really happy to be a full-time member in such a dynamic team that overachieved in 2015. This year will not be any easier but we all know that I am ready for it – now I am just waiting for the light to go green.”

Baumanis, the reigning Super1600 World RX champion, added: “The World RX Team Austria has a fantastic group of people and a perfect atmosphere, which made them an easy choice for 2016. Max has invested a lot into the car's development for this year, and Stohl Racing has performed some technical miracles.”
