WRC Rally Italia Sardegna: Paddon rolls out in SS7

Hayden Paddon retires from day one of Rally Italia Sardegna after rolling off the road near the end of SS7
Hyundai's Hayden Paddon has retired from day one of Rally Italia Sardegna after going off the road in SS7.

Paddon, who had that fiery exit in Portugal last month, went off the road near the end of the 15km Tula 2 test, rolling down the hill in the final corner. Paddon and co-driver John Kennard both escaped unharmed.

Paddon had been running ninth overall after the morning loop, losing over 30 seconds in SS4 and slipping from P5 to P11 when he spun and then hit a wall: “We spun near the start [of SS4] and got stuck in a cloud of dust. When we were turning the car around we hit a wall and broke a rear toe arm,” he explained.
