Elfyn Evans leads on home turf at Wales Rally GB by almost half a minute over M-Sport Ford duo Ott Tanak and Sebastien Ogier after the full opening day of action.

The DMACK M-Sport Ford driver notched up a trio of stage wins to overhaul early leader Ogier before gradually pulling away at the front, having also profited from his advantageous starting slot, to delight the home fans.

The British driver is aiming to become the first home nation driver winner since Richard Burns in 2000 and also break Ogier’s control of the event having entered this year as a four-time consecutive winner.
