“We've got to try and win there,” added Hirvonen of Rally GB, an event on which he triumphed three years ago. “This year hasn't always gone the way we wanted it to, so a win in Britain would be the best way to end it.”
Behind the Finnish duo, Matthew Wilson
came in sixth ahead of Khalid Al Qassimi, Henning Solberg, Ken Block – with the American thereby picking up the first points of his WRC career on his ninth start – and the out-of-luck Ogier, who nonetheless achieved one small victory by claiming the final point in tenth.
