A really sad day. As others came and went (Lancia/Toyota/Subaru/Mitsubishi/Peugeot) Ford have been a constant and mainstay of the WRC for decades. That said it can't be a surprise to M-Sport. It appeared they showed up to make others look good, the results jusy weren't there - despite having Sainz, Martin, McRae, Gronholm, JML, Hirvonen, Solberg, not a single drivers pot. Malcolm must shoulder some of the blame, a massive motorhome, support for Hapless etc. Perhaps if he gathered up all he spent on Hapless and spent on making any of his cars a tenth quicker some more silverware might have kept Ford in the service park. A sad day.
