5th at the end of the first lap to a two second win. All those that said Spies couldn't race must be feeling a little silly now. Spies has made me a fan

Can't really argue the Yam is fatest down the straight either, he only managed to pass down the straight with some clever double drafting.

Excellent race for Aprillia as well. Spies and Apirilla are definitly the storys of the season so far. I thought they would be good, but nowhere near this quick out of the box. Especially spies, new bike, new tyres, new track. Pole and Race 1 win. Nothing but impressive.

But watch out for Ducati trying to enter a 1400cc Duc in 2010.

Excellent season so far, MotoGP have a hard act to follow

Agreed he just bided his time during the first half of the race. He began to look a little impatient at some points, but he waited for oppertunities and grabbed them.

I think the podium is who will be fighting for the championship. Unfortuantly I don't think Aprillia will quite have the conisistency in the first season to allow Biaggi to fight all the way.

The yamaha is clearly the best bike. Its fast and preserves tyres better than the competitors.

Don't believe anyone doubts how good spies is now. Looked faultless all weekend

Wow, what a race, WSBK is the real deal.....
Haga had to ride his nuts off to stay in contention during that race. The motogp Aprillia Bike looks like it will be a force to be reckoned with as the season develops. One things for sure, this track certainly doesnt play in with the Duke's strengths, that straightaway kills the dukes abillity to capitalise any advantage with its punch out of the corners.
Spies is gonna be Nori's biggest threat and i can potentially see him taking the championship over things for sure it will be a magnificent year's viewings. Also well done to Shakey the only other guys that beat him were all factory bikes, top brit top privateer. cant wait for race2

Congrats to Ben, another superb display. I agree, he did look impatient but suprisingly he didn't clear off as I thought he would given his complete domination of qualifying.

I wouldn't write Haga and Ducati off yet though. He is not noted for his good performances at either PI or Losail, and yet he leads the standings (for now, and albeit due to Spies bad first race). Haga's job is damage limitation for now, and he did thay by nabbing 2nd off Biaggi at the end. That's how titles are won.

I think once we're back in Europe, we'll start to see some PROPER fireworks between these too. Well, I hope so anyway... :p

Spies is making the rest look like shmucks real fast. Not surprising really, most of them gp rejects whereas spies is gp destined. Yamaha must be chuffed with potential wsbk and gp titles in 09.
