The usual suspects up front.

Shakey Byrne needs to be faster than Brendan Roberts if he wants any chance of a factory Ducati next year.

haven't heard anything about Sykes - perhaps someone can enlighten us?

They call them "Teams" for a reason. Going quickly is down to more than just a quick rider. The team members play a huge role in helping a rider deliver a consistantly quick season. When Shakey went to Sterilgada he was full of confidence, hence the awesome performance during preseason testing. However it hasn't taken long to knock all that confidence out of him. Now he's struggling and will continue that way. Biaggi and Xaus both had flashes of brilliance with them but generally they performed inconsistantly. All down to the team not knowing what the hell they're doing. Get out of there quickly Shakey. They'll finish your carreer mate. Good luck, I hope you find the strength to work it out

"Who does that Spies guy think he is anyways? This is where it is supposed to get tough for him to be as fast as the experienced guys."

Only the bigotted haters hold this view. That said, I think the more grounded and neutral supporters amongst us are hoping that the others can close the gap, and if today is anything to go by it's looking good.

Checking the live timings it seems Haga and Spies were always up there, consistently banging in quick laps. Biaggi was adrift for most of the session and then suddenly stuck that lap in straight after Spies went quickest right towards the end of the session. Fair play to him!!

Not to just fluff my feathers or anything, but if you check back in the crash comments history when the Aprilia first came out, I said that I believed the bike would be able to challenge for wins right from the start. I even went so far as to say the bike was damn near a GP bike. And oh yeah, Spies will get the double.

Good to see Hopper continuing from where he left off in GPs - wobbling around at the back. I'm sure that once he gets used to WSBK he may well even beat a few of the privateers...

Flopper, get yourself off to AMA, the games up soft lad! :) :) :)
