I wonder how exciting this season would be if we still had Toseland, Vermeulen and Bayliss still in WSBK. Between the three of them, Spies and Haga, that would've been a cracking battle.

Clearly the fastest guy with some of the worst luck! Spies had to be absolutely gutted not to win race one after such a hard fight. When they came around Parabolica and I didn't see him I thought initially that he crashed. But for the bike to run out of gas on the last turn with victory in sight has to be very painful. But that shows how hard a fight it was to run out of petrol. It was a great race by him and Fabrizio.

Pitty for the first race screwup, bad luck keeps following Ben but brighter days look ahead...bad luck must stop at some time and then we should see the true potential of the kid that made the entire WSBK field look like the regular AMA field, almost 6 seconds behind

Also,in my heart I just know he won first race!

The crashes he's had in races weren't bad luck they were rider error, unfortunate to get run off the track at Phillip Island but that sort of thing happens to everyone at some stage and it was no one's fault, just a 'racing incident'....running out of fuel is a mistake made by the team, it also happened to Sykes, but beyond the finish line. They weren't on their own, it happened to Haslam also but Stiggy is a rookie team so they have no prior data, Yamaha should know better.
If you want a real case of bad luck its Neurkirchner, now out for months thro' no fault of his own...hope he heals well.

I've read a few times about Ben not crashing in AMA, but crashing in WSB because he is more on the limit now. I think to be fair to Ben, he knows all the tracks in AMA really well. He does not have that luxury for most tracks in WSB. He is a class act for sure.

"If you look back at all the races and Superpoles, he has only legitametly been beaten by Haga once"

This is more than a little disengenious. Haga beat Ben fair and square twice at Valencia, Ben then fell off at Assen in R2 of his own accord. So I make that 3 times (I don't count Ben getting punted off in Oz).

To my mind Ben is a future champ, he is incredible. I don't think I've ever seen someone with such a riding style and ability to adapt and go so quick straight out of the box.

But, the points table still shows Haga to hold a healthy advantage and people are already writing him off after yesterday. He will come good again, and Kyalami has been good to him down the years.
