Kept up with the action via live timing. Seems like once Spies got on his dry bike/dry setup it was all over ...he just checked out!!! Nitro limited the damage somewhat by passing Kagi. I see this thing going until the end.Though, I don't if Nori has the fitness to keep up with this phenom....

This was really strange race but maybe the most entertaining so far... Congrats to Ben, he is really from another world, class above every other riders. Shame Kuba Smrz did not manage to overtake Fabrizio, he had great pace at the end of the race. Hope 2nd race will be fully dry and we will see some brutal fights :)

You don't think Spies was a tad fortunate??? He was awful in the wet, that defo won't wash in motogp, he must be praying for it to stay dry for the rest of the season. Flag to flag are a lottery as shown in motogp still great result for Shakey..

Quite amazing that these teams are at the pinnacle of their game and yet they waste valuable time by not having a system inplace regarding their bike change overs. Plain stupid imo with bikes stopped a good distance apart, poor pit crews nearly getting runover and one rider getting off his bike on the left hand side and running all the way round his bike and pit staff to get on his bike that was on his RHS when he pitted.

Luck always plays a role, but lets face it , why should he risk crashing in the wet when the guy thats leading the championship is way behind, if you ask me he was just being smart and managing the race!! Oh, did we forget how he rode in the rain at Indy?????

I got the feeling that we are on the verge of a Nori Haga Choke of immense proportions. If Spies wins race two lookout once the points gap is closed very tightly I think we will see a more conservative Spies as scoring points and bringing the bike home will outweigh the win or crash attitude on display now.
