Go Stiggy! How disappointing to learn that even in a "spec tire" series certain teams are given an advantage! Hoppers progress is even more impressive considering his injury and the limited amount of seat time he's had so far!

Nicely worded that bit about tyres. Most people would just call it cheating. Which is what it appears to be to me. Is it in the rules that only some teams get tyres to test before the others? :?

I'm finding this very odd as well. This is a spec tire series so why is it that some teams get to test development tires and other teams do not? It's not like the Stiggy outfit is some **** team that are back markers. Even if they were, as a one make tire series, ALL teams should get access to test new rubber. It's not as if Pirelli are broke and they can't afford to hand out two sets of rubber to the teams present.

Even in a non spec tire series, when the company has tires to test only a few teams test them intially. To make it "fair" they pick teams of different manufactures in hopes that it translates to the other team. Usually they pick the factory team or the team that's doing the best for that manufacture. Ten Kate is consider the lead Honda team and Rea is ahead of Haslam in points.

I'm not sure how many different teams tested the new Pirellis. It would suck for Stiggy if everyone had a set except them.

i've watched john try very hard for many years now. some seem to be able to develop their bike into a world beater (rossi/burgess), while some just go on sheer ability to bend their machine to their will in order to win (schwantz). hopefully john has found a home where he can do a little of both (advance work done by leon seems to be key). if successful, WE will be the winners. here's to another rider getting close to the front, and thereby making my sundays that much more enjoyable!
thank's to flammini bros. for what has turned into a wonderful season. the action this year will surley be a temptation for more top flight riders to come out and play in WSBK...
