Interesting. Can Biaggi and Hopkins stay on pace for the remainder of the weekend though is the question. Top 5 finishes for both?

Haga will surely do better than 18th in the subsequent sessions. Haslam as well, I don't see Hopkins maintaining that 1.2 second gap.

Corser and Xaus are again showing the BMW has some pace in the timed sessions.

This bodes well for Spies, two non-title contenders in front with Haga and Fabrizio behind him. Granted it's only free practice....lots of setup work yet to be done by all! Looks to be an interesting weekend thus far!

Anyone that has had the same surgery as Haga will know it is extremly tough to recover from it in 3 weeks. Don't count on him being near the top of the time sheets. He's in survival mode and will attempt to limit the amount of points Spies gets on him.

This will more likely be a Fabrizio/Spies battle come Sunday.

Haga is simply amazing! Coming back from the serious injuries he had and now riding competitively, albeit a bit slower.

The guy is the very definition of toughness.
