WoW, what a great race.

Spies was on the absolute edge for the last 10 laps or so. All credit to Haga, he clearly rode through the pain barrier there. But that was Spies best race so far.

I think this race will be a change in the balance of the championship fight. I hope Haga can put a good fight in race 2, but he may have done himself in in race 1.

But that was an awesome win by Spies. Reading the comments from yesterday it seems most people wrote him for a 2nd or 3rd place. He really showed waht he is made of today.

Can't believe Eurosport turning off the race with 9 laps to go, for touring cars..
If I had paid to sponsor, strong words would be had and budgets re-assesed.. Idiots :?

Haga was clearly not impressed by The Bens last few laps tactics of slowing down and then going back to speed, but nice to see him back at the sharp end riding on someones back wheel. Great fight, Good entertainment.

I think Haga was more upset that he gave everything and couldn't come up with a way to pass Spies. He may also have realized that he might have just led the championship for the last time.

To me it looked like 5 laps to go Ben forced the pace on him by riding defencively, Haga nearly ran into the back of him a coulpe of times, and then when Haga was "hypnotized" into the pace and was planing a move(he clearly had more speed), Ben just opened the gap up with no time for Haga to catch back up. I remember reading comments of this tactic before, by people who seen Ben race in US. But thats something for Haga to think about, because this weekend he can match Ben for lap times. So should be an interesting race 2.

Haga---Mladin
Nurburing 2009---Road America 2008

Racecraft, Determination and Skill...
Mladin just said yesterday that the best days of his entire career were the last 3 years losing the championship to Spies, that will probably be true for Haga in the this and next season.

But World Touring Cars, as poor as it is (worst touring car racing going IMO) it also has sponsors who would be having words.

I guess Eurosport has to set priorities depending on what brings in the most viewers, and which series has the most money at stake etc etc

Whatever their reasons,I'm sure Eurosport had little choice in matter with which race to show.
