great PIC, great day for Yamaha boys, starting from Vale, spies, cal and even lorenzo from the back of the grid to 4th- winning the title 2 different world series 3 different titles im a honda fan but i do have outmost respect to what yamaha had done these recent years just goes to show the old saying "hard work pays off" 5 years ago yamaha was being bullied by other manufacturers, now they got the right winning ingridients riders, technicians, managers, tires, and strategy. so congrats to yamaha...you own the racing world :)

Ben Spies has a talent that only comes a round in a x amount of years the same goes for Johnny Rea, and all of our other young guns in SBK. The above figures speaks for itself, and the fact he was also on a new design lay out of a engine/bike, team, tracks. Hats off to both Carl and Ben Spies. I'm sure Spies will also be a major contender in GP in the future and that applies to Carl in superbikes for next year. I look forward to next year like the rest of you bike racing fans out there. PS Rea to be 2010 world SBK champion.

Spies was nothing short of brilliant all season long. Racing in tracks where he had never set foot before, on a first year bike (unlike the tried and tested and much more refined Ducatis), against well seasoned rivals and pretty much on a one man team since Sykes was a no show from the 1st to the last race, and he managed to get the title. Bravo.

Who could be anything other than deeply impressed?

I feel for Haga 'though.
What an appalling day to be hit with 'flu.

The good news is next season's going to be even closer .... So long as the sponsorship holds out.
