Jimmy - AFAIK Sterilgarda Yamaha, Alstare Suzuki and Kawasaki SRT are all officially supported by the manufacturers, although not actually run by the factory, whereas Ten Kate are supported by Honda Europe and not HRC.

I think Ten Kate Honda are Honda's nominated factory team, which enables them to get first dibs on tyre development etc over, say, Stiggy Honda.

Boo, they might get first dibs at a lot of stuff but tyre development is the one thing they won't get dib's on as it's a single make championship and Pirelli give them out

Cubikrube - that is an oversimplification. there are nominated teams for tyre development - Ten Kate honda is one of them along with Xerox Ducati, sterilgarda yamaha and Alstare Suzuki. I presume that BMW and Aprilia are also nominated. before the start of the season Pirelli allow those teams to use a batch of development tyres.

If you remember (or look back) you will find that when Alstare Suzuki ran three riders during the off season tests only two of the riders were allowed to test on the development rubber and the other rider used the previous seasons rubber.

I beleive that at the last test (Portimao) everyone there was using the new rubber - hence the times being a lot faster.
