Nohing against this guy, would love to see somebody new(to the front)mixing things up at the front. Good kid, it took some gusto to try the ama on an mv and he didn't do half bad. But until I see something other than what we have, the only Luca that matters is Cadalora.

Oh come on now, stop it with moaning about the 'post code' rides!

DORNA want a British rider in Moto GP, will we all moan when a Brit pops up on a satellite Ducati then?

When you think of the Dunlop sponsored Tech 3 team poor James Ellison arguably only kept the ride because of his UK origin- granted, the bike ran on tyres 2 seconds a lap slower than the Michelins but James is a good looking, charismatic guy.

Motorsport is a business, and if being an Italian rider on an Italian bike helps to get sponsors and puts more bikes on the grid then I'm all for it.

Don't reckon that flack's warranted to be honest.

Last season the bloke put in some sound, workmanlike rides on a not overly competitive (none of the Kwaks were really in with a shout) bike.

So, far as I'm concerned the jury's out.

Scassa did crapola on MV in the AMA. He crashed out of more races than his team mate, who incidentally finished in front of him 90% of the times he did manage to stay on. The only reason he managed to finish races last year was that POS Krapsaki he was on couldn't go fast enough to toss him off. :-o

To all commenters i think you know nothing about bikes to have achieved what Luca Scassa did on a Privateer Kawasaki you should take your hat off to him. :p

In 2007 Scassa rode a Fast by Ferracci MV Agusta in the AMA. He'd won the Italian Superstock championship on an MV so he was definitely familiar with the bike. He was teamed with Matt Lynn who had no experience with MV Agusta. Matt may have had some track knowledge over Scassa but on equal machinery Matt Lynn still ended the season several positions higher than Scassa who crashed out of a number of races. In the races he did not crash out of, Scassa finished ahead of his lesser experienced team mate only a handful of times.

Now, he's got a privateer Ducati in the WSBK Championship and Matt Lynn is still state side in a POS series. Put Matt Lynn on a WSBK spec Ducati and see what happens.

In 2009 Scassa finished 29th in the WSBK. 2 whole points ahead of Jamie Hacking who raced 2 fewer weekends than Scassa. Of the WSBK regulars who campaigned an entire season in 2009 only Robby Rolfo and Tommy Hill finished lower. All others finishing worse than 29th did not compete the whole season.
