WSBK » Parrish tips Toseland to shine, Rea to win

Steve Parrish predicts a bumper year for British riders in the 2010 World Superbike Championship - and whilst he reckons former champion and Yamaha returnee James Toseland will do well, the Manxman tips Ten Kate Honda star Jonny Rea to ultimately come out on top

I've been saying since the beginning of last year that I thought Rea had that "something" that may get him in to GPs. I really like the guy and think he's talented. Yeah, he had a few "moments" last year but nothing we haven't seen from De Puniet, Elias, DeAngelis, Simoncelli, Barbera, Takahashi, etc. But he has to do the business this year if he plans on going to GPs (if he even wants to do GPs). Winning the title would be ideal but he has to at least win a good amount of races and a few superpoles would be nice!

Rea is a very good rider but not consistent enough IMO to be the champion this year. Haga, Biaggi, Fabrizio, and Toseland have to be the favorites in 2010.

There could be many different race winners this year, it will be great to watch.

Last year you could guess who would win each championship, camier was a dead cert from start of bsb, everyone thought haga and would have been right had spies not been about, and again rossi was almost a dead cert, this year i dont have a clue who will win, gonna be great, hard to pick my MCN team though!

Hey Expert

is there not any post you can make without commenting on my post and using a different tag everyday? Your crush on me is getting a little ridiculous.

I dont think Rea is consistant enough to be there every weekend and his racecraft isn't really Spies like, IMO he is 1 hell of a talent but every so often he turns his brain off usually when he has other riders around him. but do agree on Toseland his style isn't gp its superbikes and i hope the brits stay in superbikes because its a better show than motogp. Just ban rider aids and it will be perfect.

Whats worth mentioning is that Rea is extremely fast... not that he's incosistent. You can't make a slow rider quicker, but you CAN make a quick rider more consistent. He doesn't have to win every week... just win when he can and keep the bike on track when he can't. That's the key to winning championships.
