WSBK » Checa re-establishes himself with 'perfect' win

Carlos Checa defies his team's 'privateer' status by taking on and beating all-comers during the second World Superbike race of the day at Phillip Island.

What a stonking ride!! Catching up that group then passing them cleaner than Kim and Aggie was sheer class. I wonder when Ducati will start spitting their dummy out at a privateer effort opening a can of whoop-a$$ on them?

Well Done Carlos, great to see you are still one of the top boys.

Isn't this the same Carlos Checa that all those armchair critics said was finished and should go home and should give to the ride to someone young and hungry who deserves it? You are probably the same people who said Haslam was a wasted ride who would never win anything, when he signed for stiggy!

Hope you feel like the narrow minded and ignorant idiots that you are!

To Genesio Bevilacqua (Team boss Athea Racing) From Ducati WSBK Parts. Many congratulations on your fantastic win at the weekend. I was good to see the red bikes..oops sorry, the Dukes up at the front. Best I take this opportunity to let you know that we seem to have a slight issue with production capacity at our WSBK parts facility. That means that the new swing arm, electrics, engine internals and fairings might be slightly delayed. Nothing to worry about, and we are confident that Shayne and Carlos will have these parts in time for Magny Cours. All the best.....

It has to be the ride of the day for me, and to see him take a win before the factory riders and his former Ten Kate team makes it ten times better. It looks very promising for Althea, Checa and Shakey, and this proves they will threaten for the Championship honours. I hope its Shakey's turn in Portimao, and its just as well he has a month to get fit again. Remember Shakey led the last race at Portimao for half the race before picking up a puncture.....

Also worth bearing in mind that the Althea bikes are Shakey's 2008 BSB championship winning bikes with updates.....just goes to show what a brilliant bike Ducati built with the 1098 at the first attempt.....
