Well done Mr. Laverty, a great exhibition of leading the whole race and winning easily.
However....No Yamahas, No Suzukis, very small entry, not looking good for the spectators.
I can understand the current economic situation will deter entrants for the "flyaway" events but where were the locals?
I hopr the trend changes when we get back to europe.
Thanks Gary

At last, a report (of sorts) on the WSS race!
Eugene looks like he's going to carry on where he and Cal left off last season.
And yes, the funniest thing of the weekend was the post race interviews with Kenan up first, angry and complaining bitterly about the pirelli tyres being total sh*t, followed a couple of minutes later after Lascorz's interview by Eugene stepping up and, completely straight faced, saying how brilliant the Pirellis were and thanking them for bringing such a great tyre....priceless!
Pity Davies's engine blew on the warm-up lap, the spare bike obviously wasn't up to much, and well done to Gino for bringing it home for a top 10 finish.
Seriously depleted field tho'....

Between this and their below par performance in the superbikes (notwithstanding Rea's excellent ride in race two) you do have to wonder if Ten Kate have fallen from grace a bit as a tuning company.

There's was lots of evidence of it last year and you'd have thought they'd sort things out during the off-season but maybe not?

Two comments cracked me up this weekend, the first was Craig Bellamy about John Terry after Chelsea vs Man U. The second was Superglue trying to blame the tyres for him losing.....what was his excuse when Laverty and Crutchlow spanked him all around the world last year?

Why cant people just say 'fair play, that guy was quicker than me?'

That's why i like Haga, Kiyo, Nicky Hayden etc, the guys are just own up and say 'i just wasnt quick enough'

One of eugene's strengths is he seems to enjoy leading at the front and can manage the gap to those behind. To bag a win right at the start to the season is a major achievement and hopefully he can now manage that gap too. Well done Norge!

Great ride. I like the supersport races as they usually offer very close racing, this one didnt so much but you still have to appreciate how well he was riding. From his interviews he seems like a genuine good bloke as well. Lets hope its the first of many wins in 2010!

Thanks Boo, but I watched it live on Eurosport.....just surprised that it took Crash till the middle of the following day to put up a report, and they still haven't given a results sheet....please don't sideline WSS Crash! Entry might be depleted but its still great racing and lack of coverage won't help any!
