"Despite rallying towards the top of the timesheets early on, Shane Byrne slipped back to 11th by the close of the session..."

@Crash, why don't you get your facts straight before writing ? Byrne went out at the start of the session and did 2 laps - an out-lap and a flyer and immediately went P3 just 1/10 off Haslams P1 time from yesterday. He then sat in the pit box for the rest of the session having only completed 24 laps in total to everyone elses 40+ laps.

You make it sound like he was out there doing lap after lap and slipping down the order with every lap he did. He wasn't out there for 99% of the session. He knows he had the speed and didn't need to be out...

Actually, if your going to be picky about facts, you should mention that Shakey had a massive high side at the fast penultimate turn and knocked himself unconscious. He was quickly back with it though and should be okay for later. I know this as i'm posting this comment from Portimao right now!

Well if Shakey did knock himself out then he won't be racing tomorrow. It is in the rules.

Did he definiely crash? No mention of it anywhere.

Notes from the "peanut-gallery":
Smrz qualifies fast, would like to see him put a whole race together. (Needs to ride the Bicycle more?) Hope Biaggi stays up front so we can see more of the Aprilia. GBR and Italy are represented well again
Times are CLOSE! veterans & race craft = success
money is on Leon, Rea and not a big fan, but Fabreze will be blowing in the wind. Don't count Haga out.. slow starter (?sense of urgency?). Ok, gots to go strain the shells out of the pint. got to love WSB

damn this is setting up to be a hell of a race. I don't think I've ever seen times so close at the top. For sure something motogp is missing. I wish I could watch the race live , anyone found a way to watch if you can't get euro sports?? man **** America.
