WSBK » 'Progress' gives Sykes 'a big boost' for Kyalami

Having achieved comfortably his finest result to-date in the 2010 World Superbike Championship at Monza last time out, Kawasaki ace Tom Sykes is now aiming to keep that momentum going at Kyalami this weekend

This long after the race, TS did as well as anybody has on a Kaw since the occasional flash from Nieto back in the day and nobody's talking. WTF? Aside from Biaggi and Corser, Toms's R2 ride is the best surprise since Checa's Philip Island surprise.
Give that man a raise and some damn encouragement!

I disagree with the opinion of some fellow posters that the kawasaki is an inferior bike.

They dominated the 24 hrs of Lemans this year in convincing fashion beating the well established teams which had been dominating endurance racing for the last couple of years.

The WSS team got transformed into a championship contender once Lascorz arrived there making the recent kawasaki riders of the last 10 years look lame.

Sykes and Vermuelen (when he regains strength in his leg) will possibly give kawasaki their best year in a long while.

They just need to bring back Rob Muzzy. The Kawasaki superbike effort ain't been sh!t since the factory took over development and race team management. At least when Muzzy ran the effort, there was a Kawasaki WSBK championship, and several AMA titles to talk about. Now? Nada. Zip. At least Sykes is a bright spot for them this year....maybe they should let Rog Hayden have a shot on one of the factory bikes too

Sykes is a great rider, in the same league as Crutchlow & Toseland. Sykes' only unlucky enough to be dwarfed to underperformance when teamed up with the wonderboy, Spies. Its Yamaha's loss but Kawasaki's gain to have Sykes.

Hope to see a Kawasaki in top 6 every race!
