Smrz is somewhat of an anomaly to me! I mean this guy can qualify! which means he is fast! I am tempted to think that his "inferior"(meaning non factory) machine may be a hindrance to this guys race performance..I think he deserves a shot at a top tier machine..but who will go out on a limb to test his worth, surely he is impressive on this B&G machine! and worth the risk..if u think not, then justify Fabrizio initial request to be put on the Xerox Duc! I am not saying Fab hasn't since earned it but his prior performance was never as consistently impressive as Smrz (Brno being the exception). At any rate I would love to see what Smrz can do on Factory equipment!

It is quite possible that Smrz is just not a battler! He may be more like Corser, where, if he has the equipment he can get out front and lead! If i am not incorrect, I believe Corser was a great qualifier as well. I know..most of us racing fans want to see a dog fight but hey Corser is a 2 time WC and I think given the opportunity Smrz could make an impact on this WSBK field if not a possible future champion! given the right circumstances..I know it sounds hopeful, but I believe this guy has been giving his all on lesser equipment for a number of years now...someone must soon see his potential!..I am not saying he will fulfill it but the potential is there!

Jakub has a longtime problem with starts. He has that problem already when he was riding 125cc and 250cc in GP. And once he gets down the field at the beginig of the race its very dificult for him to come back to front because his privat Ducati has not the power to get close enough to factory bikes on the staight so that he could overtake them on the brakes. I think he coud be a contender on a factory bike becouse overtaking would be much easier. Also some factory bikes use launchcontrol which could help him a lot. nevertheless he's made a big improve with starts during last few years ads he is getting better!
