What a race, Lav totally stuffed Sofuoglu there. You knew there was going to be drama at the end when they had their first little scuffle.... Classic stuff!

Well chuffed for Gino!

That first lap crash was utterly horrific, so glad the injuries were not serious.....

Great battle and deserved win for Laverty.

No risk and maximum points for Kenan and now he is so close to championship.

3 races remaining and the difference between pair is only 17 points.

Very tight!...

THAT was a PROPER championship showdown. Kenan really had the superior pace, only rider being able to dip beneath 2.09 and did it more than once !

But hats off to Laverty. He made his plan stick. Could've back-fired too, but he put his advantage in the final sector to good use and won a tactical battle. If I were Kenan, I'd've let Laverty back past at hangar straight, "please, you first" :)

@wosideg,

As far as I know Laverty wants to go to moto2.

And about Lascorz... That was so unlucky :( I'm glad he's not seriously hurt. And Tamburini too.

From now on it'll be between Laverty and Kenan. At the moment, 2nd place in all the remaning 3 races gives Kenan the title, but you never know.

Laverty total time, after 16 laps: 34'35.068.
Cluzel total time, after 16 laps: 34'58.262. 23!!! seconds slower then Laverty.

First 10 riders from SSP race would've WON the Moto2 race, some weeks ago. Among this 10 bikes there are even 3!!! Triumphs.
Sam Lowes, would've won the Moto2 race on his stock frame CBR6OORR.

SSP bikes are a lot faster then Moto2 prototypes. Even tho SSP bikes have around 15 HP less and 23kg more!!!

Shreiker...doseds post says it all..why would Eugene want to go and race a slower bike to further his career?

I heard Simon Buckmaster, his Pakalgar boss was interested in taking the whole team up to SBK..I don't know if he'd go with them, maybe he's hoping for a factory spot and Yamaha could do a lot worse.

Career prospects, really. If he can make more money in Moto2 than in World Superbikes (doesn't seem possible atm, but maybe in the future) then why not ? Success in Moto2 = MotoGP ride. He's very successful on a 600cc bike and Moto2 bikes are very similar to wss ones. So why risk trying out world superbikes ? Maybe a factory ride will do, but still...

@DrifterJake, Ha
engines in Moto2 have something in excess of 150HP at the clutch. If you were right, that would make the SSP bikes almost as powerful as Bayliss' Ducati in 2008 :?

As far as I know, SSP bikes have around 135HP at the clutch.
