Now lets all wait until the Americans wake up !! they have been saying for a long time that Spies could ride the R1 last year and it is the same bike !! Now we have someone who not only can ride the SAME bike but can run much faster times than Spies did !!! You can't have it both ways yankees !! And if JT could get his finger out and qualify better we would have 2 R1's up there. Nobody can say that JT is finished when you see him battling with the championship leaders.

@Rule

Come on now I'm a big Crutchlow fan, but Spies was riding a revolutionary new bike (definitely had teething issues) on unfamiliar tracks, yet he had already won a bunch of races by now. I'm sure as a Brit Cal is fairly familiar with Silverstone already, and while his record this year is very good it's not even close to what Spies did by this time last year.

I do think Cal will get there, but he's not at the same level as Spies... yet.

Poor Baiocco...back of the pack....even the entrance of Yanagawa who hasn't ridden a WSBK in 8 years finished ahead of him. Roger didn't do too badly at a track that's new to a number of the WSBK regulars. I think, given a competitive bike, he might finish in the top ten rather regularly...seeing his bike is the same as Baiocco's and he manages to finish ahead of him.

@rule britania...when did the use of the words if, and or but become anything but speculative in the racing world? IF Toseland got his finger out AND started riding faster.....IF you had teats AND a vag you'd be female.

Why do all these threads turn into "us vs them" posts. There are those of us who watch and enjoy watching the show. Congrats Cal it's been a long time coming I know we will see more from him.
